Someone reached out to us the other day and told us a story that his ancestors had told him. He told us that this story was passed down through the generations of his family. During battles with the Nephilim Giants against the Native Americans, it is said that the Nephilim Giants used to roll themselves in sap to get the rocks, dirt, and mud to stick to them to create an armor to protect themselves from the bows and arrows of the Native Americans.
The gentleman that reached out to us did not tell us what tribe his ancestors and he were from. However, we did do some research and found out that these are very real stories passed down through the generations of several Native American tribes and traditions.
Many Indigenous oral histories from the Northeast and the Ohio River Valley—especially among Iroquoian-speaking nations—describe beings often referred to as “Stone Giants” or “Stonish Giants.” In these accounts, they are portrayed as massive, human-like figures known for their strength and, in some versions, cannibalistic behavior.
Their bodies are said to have become extremely hardened—sometimes depicted as encased in layers of earth, clay, or stone—making them nearly impervious to weapons such as arrows.
